Directions from DFW
The Fort Worth Convention Center and Hotels are located approximately 17.5 miles (28 km) from DFW international airport, the base of American Airlines. Under normal traffic conditions, it should take under 30 minutes to travel by car from DFW to your hotel in Fort Worth. Most major airlines as well as many discount airlines operate out of DFW.
There are various methods to get to downtown Fort Worth from DFW.
(1) Airport Shuttle Services: SuperShuttle is the nation’s leader in airport ground transportation, operating in 40 airports, coast-to-coast and has proudly served the Dallas/Fort Worth hotel community for 30 years, and during that time we have built a reputation of excellent, reliable service.
SuperShuttle is offering all ICIS attendees a special group rate. For attendees who choose to book "round trip" reservations the discount will be even deeper. SuperShuttle rates are typically less than 1/3 of what a taxi costs from DFW to Downtown Hotels so it is a terrific value. Please use the following link to book your reservation for SuperShuttle today http://groups.supershuttle.com/icis2015fortworth.html
(2) Taxis: Curbside taxis cost about $85 (including 20% tip). There are also numerous sedan services that one can arrange in advance. The fares are normally the same as taxis but with the advantage that a driver will be waiting for you outside your baggage claim gate and the automobiles are typically more comfortable. The sedan services would be a good choice for 3-4 ICIS participants who arrive about the same time to share.. Some of the widely used DFW sedan services are:
Fort Worth Airport Taxi
Silver West Limousines, Inc
Phone: (817) 870-1333
Agency Limousine and Coach
Phone: (817) 289-2425
Wynne Sedan and Motorcoach Group
Phone: (972) 915-7300
(3) Train: It is also possible to get to downtown Fort Worth by train. The service is not available on Sundays. On Monday through Saturday, you can ride the TRE between downtown Fort Worth’s T&P station and the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. You will have to take a shuttle from the terminal building to the train terminal. The train is very inexpensive, but you will then have to walk about 1500 yards (1.4 km) including crossing a busy intersection while carrying your luggage to get from the station to your hotel. The train is not recommended for anyone arriving after dark because the station does not get much activity and there may not anyone around to point you in the right direction.
